SNOWFLAKES

by Anita Estes

Transformed water and ice

Frozen cold at the perfect temperature, moisture and

atmospheric height

Produce an entirely different mode of precipitation

From its mother—rain.

Each flake fashioned to perfection,

Infinite in design,

Myriads upon myriads.

Scientists say no two are alike.

How they mirror the maker

Unlimited creativity,

artistry and scientific facts of observation

Reflecting truth.

Snow can be understood in the mind,

Perceived by the eye,

Penetrated into the spirit.

Engendering awe and wonder or

Scorned.

Much like their Creator.

Blanketing our dismal landscape

Darkened with Sin.

Offering a promise of fresh

White hope.

A gift presented,

Though some turn away in disgust and

anger at its inconvenience.

Trampling pure white snow flakes

With muddied boots of wrath

or indifference.

Still—others reveling in its

Pristine mystery,

Made observable by the

Grand Transformers

Nature.

Which one are you?
